REETH COMMUNITY ORCHARD

May-June 2022

Preparations are afoot to ensure that the Orchard is ready for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, with appropriate bunting, and patriotic colours in the newly-planted pots.

A perfect peony flower in the hot border, gooseberries are  thriving with the mild, wet weather and the apple blossom continues to delight.

Right and below: a tangle of aquilegias provides interest with  rich contrasting colours.

Right: a patch of thrift (armeria maritima) in the conservatory border.

Below: the wild-flower meadow is full of buttercups, red clover, yellow rattle and many varieties of grasses.
